P.S. Sorry for all the different usernames. I don't know if you've noticed, but Mike Burns is a pretty ridiculously common name so I can't always chose it sadly. Still, enjoy!

The New Studio

I've been setting up my new studio lately and it's still a little cluttered but it's finally ready for business! I've got my new drawing table set up, a brand new 27" iMac to work on and a nice comfy chair so I can work all day. Oh yeah, and those are all my art books under the table...I should really do something with those.

It's time to start producing more work so get ready to see some new stuff on the blog really soon. I'll be submitting some work to a show coming up here in Philadelphia pretty soon, I'll talk more about that later. I'll be back soon!

Baby Turret!

I haven't uploaded anything for a while so I wanted to do a quick little fan art piece to prove to everyone I'm still alive. Portal 2 came out recently and I LOVED it, plus I've been meaning to do SOMEthing portal related so I figured it was about time!

I've been really busy lately getting settled into my new living space and I'm currently finishing up my internship with Blue Shift. I also got a gig working on a Children's book, but I can't really show anything or say much about it at the moment. I'll be sure to share what I can when I can. I'm going to try and get more work up here on the blog more regularly and have more of a presence online in general, so watch out...plenty of new stuff is on it's way!

Today's the world premiere of issue 2 of the Blue Shift webcomic on MTV Geek! I'm responsible for the coloring work on this issue and after months of working on it I'm happy to finally be able to show it off.

Art Order: Ultimate Fighter Challenge

The lineup for the Ultimate Fighter Challenge was just posted on Art Order. My entry is below. I feel really good about this piece. I think I really raised the bar on my character designing, pose and rendering. This was a really exciting piece for me to work on and it was a very rewarding finish.

Art Order: Segmentation Challenge Entry

Art Order just posted the judging results for the latest challenge "Segmentation" up on the blog today so I thought I would post my entry here. The deadline for the next Art Order challenge "The Ultimate Fighter" is coming up soon and I really feel like I raised the bar on my entry for that challenge so I'm excited for the reveal, so stay tuned!
